DSP/BIOS Overview

DSP/BIOS is a real-time operating system that provides pre-emptive multitasking services for DSP devices. DSP/BIOS services include ISR dispatching, tasks, software interrupts, semaphores,  messages, device I/O, memory management, and power management. In addition, DSP/BIOS also includes debug instrumentation and tooling, including low-overhead printfs and statistics gathering.

DSP/BIOS is highly modular and scalable. A configuration tool enables static creation of OS objects on the development host if desired, further reducing footprint by eliminating the need for create functions to be stored and executed on the target.

DSP/BIOS 5.4x	Link to download page for DSP/BIOS 5.4x. DSP/BIOS 5.40 only works with CCSv4. DSP/BIOS 5.41 works with either CCSv3 or CCSv4.
DSP/BIOS 5.33	Maintenance release for all ISAs (28x, 283xx, 55x, 62x, 64x, 64x+, 67, 674x, 67x+).  Requires CCS 3.2 or later. Not compatible with C672x ROM image. No 54x support in this release.

DSP/BIOS 5.31	Maintenance release for all ISAs (28x, 54x, 55x, 62x, 64x, 64x+, 67, 67x+).  Requires CCS 3.2 or later. Not compatible with C672x ROM image.
DSP/BIOS 5.30	Maintenance release for all ISAs (28x, 54x, 55x, 62x, 64x, 64x+, 67, 67x+).  Requires CCS 3.2 or later. Not compatible with C672x ROM image.
DSP/BIOS 5.21	64x+ specific release.   DSP/BIOS 5.21 adds BCACHE, ECM, and MPC modules; examples for dsk6455, evmDM6446 and sdp2430; and assorted minor bug fixes for 64x+. Not compatible with C672x ROM image.
DSP/BIOS 5.20	General release for c2800, c5000, OMAP, and C6000 ISAs.   DSP/BIOS 5.20 adds Graphical Configuration, improved kernel performance, enhanced driver support. Compatible with C672x ROM image.
