Codec Engine
Codec Engine is a framework that automates the invocation and instantiation of xDAIS-compliant codecs and algorithms.

DSP/BIOS

DSP/BIOS is a real-time operating system that provides pre-emptive multitasking services for DSP devices. DSP/BIOS services include ISR dispatching, tasks, software interrupts, semaphores,  messages, device I/O, memory management, and power management. In addition, DSP/BIOS also includes debug instrumentation and tooling, including low-overhead printfs and statistics gathering.

DSP/BIOS File System

The DSP/BIOS File System is a POSIX-compliant embedded FAT file systems for devices running the DSP/BIOS operating system. Storage peripheral drivers compatible with the file system are available in the Processor Support Packages.

DSP/BIOS Link

DSP/BIOS Link provides microprocessor to DSP communications and control services. DSP/BIOS Link enables the microprocessor to bootload the DSP and buffer streaming and message passing between the microprocessor and DSP. DSP/BIOS Link provides working microprocessor-DSP communications drivers for devices such as OMAP and DM642.

Digital Video Software Development Kits (DVSDKs)
Digital Video Software Development Kits (DVSDKs ) are SDKs that combine many of the standalone products listed on this page (Processor Support Packages, Codec Engine, Framework Components, ...) with multimedia codecs and encode/decode demos.

Linux Utilities and LPM
Linux Utilities and the Local Power Manager (LPM) include the CMEM contiguous memory manager, the SDMA  DMA manager for Linux applications, and the Linux-side power manager for DSP cores in ARM-DSP devices. These programs are typically required by Codec Engine.

Message Queue Transports
The DSP/BIOS MSGQ module enables variable-length messages to be passed transparently between DSP/BIOS executions threads, such as tasks and software interrupts. The MSGQ module internally handles message passing between threads on the same processor. To pass messages between discrete processors, a Message Queue Transport (MQT) is required for the specific physical inter-processor communication mechanism used, such as PCI, MCBSP or Serial Rapid I/O.

Network Developer's Kit
The Network Developer's Kit provides a TCP/IP stack and associated services that works with DSP/BIOS on TMS320C6400 (including 64+ devices) DSPs.

Processor Support Packages (PSP)
Platform Support Packages provide a full compliment of drivers for embedded operating systems on TI System on a Chip (SoC) silicon. The drivers are instrumented and provided as source with pre-built libraries.   Also in the package are board support utilities, documentation and examples. The EDMA driver for the 64x+ devices is also available here.

RTSC / XDCtools XDCtools simplifies development and use of embedded software components that comply with the Real-Time Software Components (RTSC) initiative. The XDCtools suite includes configuration, build, documentation generation, and browsing tools.

xDAIS Developer's Kit
The xDAIS (eXpress DSP Algorithm Interoperability Standard) Developer's Kit provides the header files and specifications needed to implement xDAIS-compliant algorithms.

xDAIS Framework Components
xDAIS Framework Components enable faster implementation of application frameworks that use codecs that comply to the TMS320 DSP Algorithm Standard (xDAIS).
