SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi SDK 10.20.00.39 Release Notes
Table of Contents
Introduction
The SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® SDK delivers components that enable engineers to develop applications on the Texas Instruments SimpleLink CC35XX family of wireless microcontrollers (MCUs). This software toolkit provides a cohesive and consistent software experience by packaging essential software components, such as:
- Wi-Fi 6 networking stack based on LwIP, supporting 802.11 b/g/n/a/ax on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
- Bluetooth® Low Energy 5.4 protocol stack (NimBLE 1.7.0)
- LwIP-based TCP/IP networking stack
- FreeRTOS kernel with Driver Porting Layer (DPL) and POSIX abstraction
- TI Drivers for peripherals (GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, Power, Watchdog, and more)
- Wi-Fi Toolbox for device activation, image signing, and firmware flashing
All of the above are provided in one easy-to-use software package along with example applications and documentation.
The CC35XX device is a single-chip wireless MCU with an ARM® Cortex®-M33 application core, external flash, and 1200-kB on-chip SRAM. Unlike network processor solutions, the CC35XX integrates the application core and Wi-Fi/BLE connectivity on a single device — no separate host MCU required.
The SimpleLink MCU portfolio offers a single development environment that delivers flexible hardware, software, and tool options for customers developing wired and wireless applications. For more information, visit TI SimpleLink Wireless Connectivity.
This is version 10.20.00.39 of the SimpleLink Wi-Fi SDK.

Upgrade and Compatibility Information
The SimpleLink Wi-Fi SDK supports only the CC35XX family of devices.
- Use SysConfig to obtain the proper configuration when migrating a project to a different CC35XX board variant.
- SysConfig is the recommended mechanism for configuring TI Drivers, FreeRTOS, and device-specific components such as the Wi-Fi and BLE stacks.
Installation and Usage
- To build the sample applications with this SDK a supported Integrated Development Environment (IDE) must be installed (refer to Dependencies below)
- Install the simplelink_wifi_sdk_10_20_00_39 installer package on a supported host operating system with Administrator privileges
- The default install path for Windows is C:\ti\simplelink_wifi_sdk_10_20_00_39
- Changing the default install path and/or drive letter may require updating project variables. Do not use a space in the install path
- It is recommended to make a backup of the installation in order to revert modifications to the SDK
