Introduction
Z-Stack 3.x is a component of the SimpleLink CC26x2 and CC13x2 SDKs. This component enables development of Zigbee 3.0 specification based products. Z-Stack is TI’s Zigbee® 3.0 compliant protocol suite for the CC26X2 and CC13X2. Z-Stack contained in this release is based on ZigBee 3.0 specification with the added benefit of running on top of TI-RTOS.

What’s New
- New example projects: CIE, IASZone and WarningDevice (see individual readme files for more information)
- The example projects have been updated with a feature which factory resets the device if the left button is pressed and held during power up
- Added ability to choose whether or not binds from remote devices (i.e. non-parent, non-authenticated, etc) are accepted
- Many deprecated compile flags and unused legacy code blocks have been removed
- Enhancements to Green Power Proxy UI screen
Fixed Issues
- Fixed the issue which caused transmit power on the CC13x2P2 platform to be significantly less than expected
- Added Green Power Basic Proxy functionality to GenericApp project to proxy GP data packets
- BDB F&B bug regarding duplicate binding for select instances
- Fixed an issue where having Touchlink enabled during normal commissioning causes BDB F&B to not operate
- Fixed an issue where BDB F&B would not run when using Touchlink commissioning.
- Fixed an issue where neighbor table entries in the nwk join callback would not be populated when Touchlink was enabled
- Resolved a problem involving IAS Zone Enroll Response payload not being parsed with the proper short address
- Fixed a compiler error message if NV_RESTORE was removed from GPD projects
- Fixed an issue that would cause a ZED to not enter a low power state after nwk rejoin
- Fixed an issue that would cause a ZED to remain at the REJOIN_POLL_RATE instead of restoring the correct default POLL_RATE after a nwk rejoin
- Z-Stack Application API incorrectly cast poll rate as a uint16_t instead of a uint32_t which decreased the maximum allowed poll rate
- Fixed an issue where a ZED would be active instead of entering a low power stat prior to starting nwk commissioning
- GDP example applications used the default power table instead of the correct version for CC1352P-2 LaunchPad projects with the PA enabled
- Fixed an issue where the ZNP application would not send the MT reset message during power-up
- Fixed an issue where BDB reporting could not report attributes defined as function callbacks
- Fixed an issue where the UI would lock up with a GP sink application
- Fixed a bug where certain stack messages were incorrectly passed to the application to cause application lock-up
Known Issues
- R21 Zigbee core is not certified for the CC26X2/CC13X2 platform
- Green Power Device and Sink can only communicate through an intermediate Green Power Proxy, not directly
Upgrade and Compatibility Information
- None
Operating System Support
The TI Z-Stack is supported on the Microsoft Windows®7 SP1 or later
Dependencies
The Zigbee component of the SimpleLink CC26x2 and CC13x2 SDK was built & tested on a Windows host platform using the following Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and components. Using an IDE or toolchain version not listed below may result in compatibility issues with this SDK release. Refer to the individual component release notes in the Document Overview for each component’s supported code generation tools.
- IAR Embedded Workbench: EWARM-8.20.2
- TI Code Composer Studio: CCS-8.2.0
- TI Code Generation Tools for ARM: 18.1.2.LTS
- XDCTools: 3.50.07.20
Device Support
Development Board Support
Validation
The Z-Stack sample applications were built & tested with versions of the following Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and tool chains listed in the top-level SDK release notes:
- Code Composer Studio using the TI C Compiler for ARM
- IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM
This release is for evaluation and development purposes only. End products being developed with this protocol stack version will require a future update prior to obtaining Zigbee and/or regulatory certification.
