Sensorless FOC - TIDA010250 User Guide

This User Guide outlines the usage of TIDA010250 along with the sensorless FOC Application running on MSPM0.

For more details refer to the TIDA010250 Design Guide

1. Hardware Required

  • TIDA010250 - 1-kW brushless DC motor inverter reference design

  • Isolated AC source

  • Brushless-DC Motor

  • Serial Wire Debug (SWD) debugger with isolator

NOTE: If user want to use non-isolated AC source always an isolated debugger

2. Hardware Setup

  1. Connect a serial wire debug (SWD) debugger to connector J8 to debug or program the MSPM01507. Isolate the host PC from TIDA010250 board.

J8 header

  1. Connect a motor cable to the terminals J4, J5, and J6.

  2. Apply a DC bus power, AC power supply or AC mains power to the inverter by connecting the power to J1, J2, and J3.

  • The maximum output of the DC power supply is 380VDC.

  • The maximum output of the AC power supply is 265VAC, 50/60Hz.

  • AC main power is 220VAC, 50/60Hz.
