6. EVM Setup for J722S¶
This section is intended to give a quick reference of EVM related to SDK usage. Full EVM documentation can be referenced at TDA4VEN, TDA4AEN and AM67 evaluation module.
Important
Please refer to the EVM guide and provide the requried type-c power supply 5V-20V, 60-65W
Fusion 1 board cannot draw power supply from the EVM, this must be powered by a separate 12V power source
By default single RTOS display is mapped to HDMI

6.2.2. UART terminal setup¶
Connect USB cable to Main UART port on the EVM
4 UART ports would be visible at the PC side
Port 2 from this is used this for Linux, RTOS UART terminal from A53
Setup UART for 115200 baud rate, 8 data bits, no party, 1 stop bit
6.2.3. Boot Modes¶
Bootmodes are selected using the SW8 and SW9 switches on the common processor board.
6.2.3.1. SD Boot Mode¶
Following are the switch settings to set the boot mode to SD for common processor board.:
SW3[1-8] = 1100 0010
SW4[1-8] = 0100 0000
6.2.3.2. No Boot Mode¶
When you want the binaries to be loaded from a debugger (CCS), the common processor boards has to be set in the NO boot mode.
Following are the switch settings to do the same.:
SW3[1-8] = 1101 1111
SW4[1-8] = 0000 0000
Important
Please refer to J722S-EVM BOOT MODES LINK in the MCU-PLUS-SDK documentation for other supported boot modes such as eMMC, OSPI, UART etc.
6.3. Daughter Card information¶
6.3.1. Fusion daughter card¶
Fusion daughter card is adapter board to connect 4 camera sensors (IMX390+UB953 serializer) through de-serializer (UB960) available on the Fusion1 daughter card to CSI2RX ports of J722S SoC.
Connect the daughter card to the EVM at J37 40-pin Samtec expansion slot.
