FAQ-080729-4

How can I set my XDCPATH in an Eclipse IDE?

XDCtools uses an XDCPATH to define locations where it should look for RTSC packages. For command-line based actions, you may define an XDCPATH environment variable and use the --xdcpath command-line option with various tools. Command-line settings always override any environment variable definition of XDCPATH. When using an Eclipse IDE, you can see and modify the --xdcpath options that will be used for your existing project as follows:

all options
  1. With the project active in your Eclipse IDE, choose Project->Properties. (Or you can right-click on the project folder in the C/C++ Project area and choose Properties.)
  2. Select the C/C++ Build category.
  3. Select the Build configuration you want to examine or modify. For each build configuration you want to modify, you will need to select the Build configuration, make the change, and click Apply or OK before making a change for another Build configuration.
  4. In the Tool Settings tab, select XDCtools v3.10. The All options field shows the configuro command line that will be sent to the xs command. You can change the configuro command line options used for this project in the Basic Options and Advanced Options categories.
  5. To add a set of packages to the --xdcpath option, go to the Basic Options category and click the Add icon.
  6. Click File system and browse for the directory that contains the packages. Then click OK twice to add the selected directory to the "RTSC package repositories" list.
RTSC package repositories

To learn more about the command line options, see Command - xs and Command - xdc.tools.configuro. For more about the XDCPATH and the package path, see Managing the Package Path.

If two packages with the same name appear in the package path, only the first one in the order specified in the package path will be found. You can quickly detect these situations by running the xdc.tools.path.sg tool; duplicate packages are highlighted by this graphical tool.

You can add a package repository to the default --xdcpath list that will be used when creating new projects as follows:

  1. From the IDE's menus, choose Window->Preferences.
  2. In the Preferences window, expand the tree and choose TI->Managed Build.
  3. Click Add next to the RTSC package repositories field.
  4. Browse to the folder you want on the XDCPATH and click OK.
