Pre-Installation Instructions:

	On Windows:
          1. If you are using McAfee, your installation may hang.  
	        Instead, use the offline installer or simply temporarily disable the McAfee firewall. 
	        McAfee will allow you disable it for a period of time. 
	        60min should be enough to complete the installation. 
	  2. If there are pending system reboots, such as the result the a Microsoft Visual Studio library installation, 
	        you will be asked to restart Windows in order to complete the installation. 
	  3. If you are on Windows 7, 64-bit, using NVIDIA Optimus adapter, you may want to check this forum thread prior to installation:

	On Linux:
	  1. If installing from DVD on Linux, you need to either mount the DVD with execute permissions first, 
                or copy the files off the DVD to a local drive and change permissions there to run the installer.
	  2. To facilitate the installation of emulation drivers, it is necessary to run part of the installation process as root.  
                You may either run the whole install as root, or install the drivers after CCS installation has completed.  
         	If you decide to not run the whole CCS installation as root, you can navigate to the <Install-Folder>/ccsv5/install_scripts folder, 
          	and run the “install_drivers.sh” script as root.

Off-line Installer:

    If you are using the off-line installer for CCSv5 (full compressed image):

    On Windows, double-click on CCS_5.x.x.xxxxx_win32.zip
        1. On the menu bar, go to Actions -> Extract
        2. Select a temporary folder where you wish to extract the files prior to installation
	     This folder is not the same as the one where you will actually install CCS.
        3. Select all of the following:
             a. "All files/folders in archive"
             b. Overwrite existing files
             c. De-select the following:
             d. Open Explorer Window
             e. Skip older files
        4. Click on Extract
 

    On Linux, untar CCS_5.x.x.xxxxx_linux.tar.gz and extract all files in a temporary directory, prior to installation
	     This directory is not the same as the one where you will actually install CCS.
            

    Once extraction has successfully completed, proceed with the installation steps below.

Web-Installer:

    If you are using the web-installer for CCSv5:

    On Windows, click 'Run' on ccs_setup_5.x.x.xxxxx.exe, and proceed with the installation steps below.
    On Linux,  click 'Save' on ccs_setup_5.x.x.xxxxx.bin, and proceed with the installation steps below.

    To install Code Composer Studio:

       On Windows:
           1. Run ccs_setup_5.x.x.xxxxx.exe 
           2. Choose where you want to install 
           3. Select the components you wish to install 
	   4. Complete the installation steps
       On Linux:
           1. Run ccs_setup_5.x.x.xxxxx.bin 
           2. Choose where you want to install 
           3. Select the components you wish to install 
	   4. Complete the installation steps

Managing Your License:

	1. CCS requires a valid license to be used.  
	     There are a number of free license options, you will be given the opportunity to create one of the free licenses when you first run CCS.  
	2. Note that you are not able to use a CCSv4 license with CCSv5; it requires a CCSv5 license. 
	3. Web interface for managing your licenses: www.ti.com/myregisteredsoftware  
	     Use it if you want to see expiry info, or move the license to a different machine.
